MMJ Labs was established in 2006 by Dr. Amy Baxter, a pediatrician and pain researcher, to develop reusable, inexpensive products for personal pain control. The initial product launched was Buzzy®, a bee-shaped palm sized device combining cold and vibration. When placed between the brain and the pain, the competing stimulus controls or inhibits sharp pain. Additional products include DistrACTION® cards which reduce pain through distraction, and VibraCool(r) Sport Therapy.
Since the official product launch May 1 2009, Buzzy® has been adopted by over 5000 hospitals and clinics worldwide, and by consumers for IVF, arthrtitis injections, and non-needle procedures. MMJ Labs' awards include the prestigious Medical Design Excellence Award, Small Business Blue Ribbon award from the US Chamber of Commerce 2015, Top Ten Innovation Companies in Georgia, Georgia RockStars of Entrepreneurship, and the Georgia GLOBE award for international business development and exporting.
Buzzy® is reusable, and proudly made in the U.S.A.
